‘Ikigai’ is written as “生きがい” or “生き甲斐” in Japanese, “生き” is a connection form of “生きる” = “to live”, and “甲斐” means “An effect as a result of doing something. A result. Also, a value as much as trying to do something”, according to “広辞苑”, widely known as the most authoritative dictionary of the Japanese language, and newspaper editorials often cite its definition. So, I think that your friend might already do one of her own ‘Ikigai’!
