John did two tours of combat in Vietnam and spent six years with the 101st Airborne and seven years with the 82nd Airborne, both great units. He was an accomplished author of over 8 books, all military related, many based on his experiences and all dedicated to the one he loved, his wife, Misty. His website is

John was undergoing radiation and chemo treatments for cancer, the after effects of Agent Orange. He was given a 25% chance of success but sadly lost the battle. We wish to offer our deepest condolences to his wife, three grown sons and four granddaughters.

In Memory of John W. Huffman who passed away October 26, 2015:

“The Next Place that I go won’t be like any place I’ve been or dreamed of in the place I left behind. I will be free of the things that I held onto that were holding on to me. I take with me the love of those who loved me, the warmth of those who cared, the happiness and memories and magic that we shared. This light will shine forever in The Next Place that I go.”
