Men and Dreams in the Dhauladhar ( Book Review )

Book — Men and Dreams in the Dhauladhar.

Author — Kochery C. Shibu

Pages — 284

Publisher — @Niyogi_publishers

After reading a lot of contemporary and conventional fiction books lately I got the opportunity to have fresh breath of air when I started reading this book. The cover and title are very eye catching , classic and beautiful.

The story revolves around 3 protagonists whose lives are contrasting to each other which are nicely portrayed — Nanda , Khusru and Rekha. They have vivid past which they carry as secrets.

Their life takes a Major turn when they meet in the process of the Hydro power plant set up in the himalayan ranges of Himachal Pradesh named as Dhauladhar range.

Author himself being a retired Indian Navy official has poured his Own real experiences and knowledge while writing the hydro power project part which needless to say fascinated me.

The vivid descriptions of the beautiful environment of the Snow capped mountains , the pain of the workers , human heart’s innate nature and the curse of terrorism are nicely blended together with lucid yet ornamental words under creative titles of each chapter.

Altogether it was a very good read.
