Think Positively!

I have thought positively my whole life. I really don’t know if it has helped me though. I mean, I feel like I have had an edge with those that are negative. I can’t say I am more successful then I was twenty years ago because of my attitude. I can say rich or poor I think I have enjoyed life more than it seems other people have but at the same time I do feel others find me annoying at times. They do because I am positive even though I may have no reason to be. I have been told that I am deluding myself. That I am not living in reality. All that is true also. You can’t stay positive and be practical at the same time. To be positive you have to lie to yourself about your future, “it will get better.” You have to lie to yourself about your circumstances, “this is a good learning opportunity”. You have to lie to your self about your past, “that had to happen so I could move forward”. Is it a lie? Sure but being negative is a lie also. The glass is half empty is a lie as much as the glass being half full. The only difference is, you are not out there measuring it to the decimal. If you were then you could be sure which one was true. The only thing though that matters is if you are adding or subtracting to someones life. I have to believe that if you are being positive then you are always adding to someones life. Even if they want to bring you down, you are filling them or life up. I choose to stay positive even if it doesn’t bring me wealth because I would rather be happy then be right!
