WHAT IT IS?
Have you ever stayed in a hotel in the center of a megalopolis, with tall buildings all around, but no beautiful view? Slightly gloomy, isn’t it? But then “BOOM!” There you have it! A stunning view of the sea with white sands, rays of sun, palm trees and shellfish. Through a screen, big as a window or even a wall. People may now hear the sound of crystal-clear waves breaking on the ocean, as well as the wind and rain, thanks to advances in technology. Your soul immediately feels as if you are in the Maldives, the holiday destination you wish to visit.
After a while, you become bored by the beach and decide to fly to the African Savannah to fulfill a promise you made to yourself last year. With a few taps on a remote control near your bedside: there you are. A lion may even be heard howling in the distance. When it is time to go to bed, you decide you want to fall asleep softly lightened by a full moon and counting the stars.
‘Philips’ uses big ‘UltraHD TV’ screens that feel like real windows. It allows guests to choose what they want to watch on the screen using the ‘Philips Home’ app, accessible via the remote control.
