I have also thought about this particular subject. Online comics (‘webcomics’) use music sometimes, and have queued music and sounds when you view a particular image, e.g: http://www.webtoons.com/en/thriller/shriek/missing-by-hongjoon-choi/viewer?title_no=772&episode_no=15

If it’s possible to do it with comics, it is definitely possible to do it with text. Interactive also games work in a similar way with audio and music.

I have also recently come across a page which has text and music together, however there are soundtracks that have to be clicked manually for the synergetic narrative to continue. What you have said will take this even further.

If you want to have a look at the written narrative and music example click here: https://www.talesoftheforgotten.net/mystatusisliving/

Thank you for bringing this topic up and for doing your research, I hope you take this idea further.
