If you love fried chicken this is the place to go!

We visited after a show at the Tristran Bates theatre just around the corner for a post show bite. I’d advise to book in advance if you can as it gets pretty busy but we were lucky enough to get a walk in.

The main dining area and bar are downstairs and from the vibe i got as we headed down there I was excited to get stuck into some fried chicken!

Now, when you think fried chicken you’re probably thinking of the chicken shops that are dotted around all our streets right? Chick N’ Sours is so much more with a menu full of burgers and straight up herb fed fried chicken with an Asian twist not to mention the sour cocktails.

The starters & sides were just as good as the star of the show. The mexi-nese nachos with Chick N’ bacon, green chillies & a generous amount of Kimchi cheese were a flavour sensation and nothing like the typical corn chips covered in salsa ans guacamole. Then there’s the Hunan style cucumbers; simple yet delicious slices of cucumber drenched in Chilli, cumin and sesame. you won’t be disappointed ordering cucumber as a side.

On to the star of the show the xian xian tenders. 5 succulent tender pieces of chicken coated in Xian Xian spice, coriander & sesame fried to perfection. personally I loved these with the C’n’S BBQ dip. I’d say this is fried chicken at its very best!

I’ll be back to try out more of the offerings soon and to get some better pictures.
