You find yourself live streaming a game on Twitch, YouTube, or Mixer. As you stream you start to get tired of playing the same game so you start playing many different games. There are hundreds of different games you can stream. The more you look into your options you become lost on what to stream. Does this sound familiar?

If you are wanting to grow your stream then you need to look at what games you are playing. There are a few ways you can find a niche. You can be genre specific such as survival games, board games, indie games, etc. Or you can be specific with a specific game such as Heroes of the Storm or Fortnite or Super Mario Maker. You will have more success building a community around one genre or game.

When you are starting out it is hard to go from game to game. So finding that one game can help develop your community. Viewers will get use to what you are doing and expect the same game or genre when you stream. Consistency matters in most aspects of Twitch, whether it be a game, your schedule, or how you interact with chat.

In another article we will talk about playing larger games like Fortnite and Heroes of the Storm or other esport games and see why large games are hard to be discovered in.

If you enjoyed this article let me know. I will continue to post more about streaming and social media.
