This week, to mark the 75th anniversary of the #BattleoftheBulge our bipartisan Congressional delegation traveled to Belgium and Luxembourg to honor our WWII American heroes. Back in D.C., the House passed articles of impeachment against the President of the United States. The Speaker also signed multiple bills #ForThePeople including, the FUTURE Act to permanently fund HBCUs and Minority-Serving Institutions, the bipartisan appropriations bills to fund our government for the year 2020 and the National Defense Authorization Act.


This week, Speaker Pelosi led a bicameral Congressional Delegation to Madrid, Spain for the 2019 United Nations Framework on Climate Change #COP25. Upon returning to D.C., Speaker Pelosi addressed the nation announcing that the House of Representatives will move forward with drafting articles of impeachment and on Friday, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 4, the Voting Rights Advancement Act, which restores the full strength of the landmark Voting Rights Act.

This week, Speaker Pelosi marched to Senator McConnell’s office to demand action to #EndGunViolence, joined youth activists from the Butterfly Effect to create awareness of the thousands of immigrant children in detention centers across the U.S. and also came together with colleagues and friends at the Library of Congress to celebrate the return of the AIDS Quilt to San Francisco. On Friday, Speaker Pelosi signed important bipartisan legislation to reaffirm America’s commitment to the rule of law and democracy in Hong Kong in the face of Beijing’s oppression.

This week, Speaker Pelosi stood with Dreamers and TPS recipients outside the U.S. Supreme Court steps to thank them for their courage, and later that day, led a bicameral march to @SenateMajLdr McConnell’s office in the Capitol to demand a vote on H.R. 6, the American Dream and Promise Act. On Thursday, Speaker Pelosi met with surviving spouses of 9/11 victims and on Friday, signed @RepTedDeutch’s #PACTAct, bipartisan legislation that makes animal cruelty a federal crime.

Last week, Speaker Pelosi welcomed SEIU members who have led the Fight For 15, met with leading members of the Rebuild North Bay Foundation (RNBF) to receive updates on Northern California’s fire recovery efforts and signed the Hidden Figures Congressional Gold Medal Act. On Thursday, Speaker Pelosi presided over the House for the passage of H. Res. 660, which establishes the procedure for the next phase of the House’s impeachment inquiry.

This week, Speaker Pelosi welcomed President Sergio Mattarella of Italy to the U.S. Capitol and joined Chairman Adam Schiff for a press conference on the next steps in the impeachment inquiry. On Wednesday, Speaker Pelosi went to the White House to meet with President Trump regarding his disastrous decision in Syria, which was overwhelmingly opposed in a bipartisan vote of 354 to 60. Later in the week, Speaker Pelosi led a high-level bipartisan delegation to Jordan to discuss the deepening Syria crisis.

The times have found us. This week, we witnessed a sad, yet important, moment for our nation when Speaker Pelosi announced that the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry after the actions taken to date by the President, which have seriously violated the Constitution. The Speaker joined the rally to #EndGunViolence outside the U.S. Capitol, welcomed the parents of journalist Austin Tice, a journalist being held captive in Syria, and met with Jonathan Van Ness to talk about the #EqualityAct.
