A new poll shows the three leading candidates for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate for Missouri are neck and neck. And with just over 60 days until the primary and more than 30% of voters still undecided, this is anyone’s race to win.

The people of Missouri want their voices to be heard and they want change. They are fed up with the same old “politics as usual,” where candidates show up a few weeks before an election making promises that they don’t even plan to keep. That is why Spencer Toder’s campaign has been solely focused on improving the lives of Missourians now, rather than waiting until he is in office to begin working for Missourians. He has not taken for granted the trust necessary to earn a vote and in the last year, has centered his work on elevating the voices of others.

The recent poll of likely Democratic primary voters shows Trudy Busch Valentine and Spencer Toder in a statistical tie for the lead, with the candidates receiving 26.3% and 23.8%, respectively. With a margin of error of +/- 4.2%, that puts Valentine and Toder in a statistical lead. Lucas Kunce received just 18.5% of voter support. Notably, however, 31.4% of voters still say they are undecided with just two months until the primary.

Democrats cannot win in Missouri without the support of Young Adults and the African American community. Showing his values through action at every step of this campaign, Toder has earned voter trust throughout the region providing an unparalleled opportunity to beat a Republican challenger in November. The poll found that Toder has earned the most trust with African American voters among the three candidates. Over 17% of African American voters say they have a favorable impression of Toder. Favorability for Valentine and Kunce was 10.7% and 6%, respectively.

Since announcing his candidacy in May of 2021, Toder has worked to earn the votes of Missourians, knowing that trust cannot be bought and that actions speak louder than words. His campaign raised over $50,000 for Afghan Refugees, fed over 200 meals to unhoused Military Veterans on Thanksgiving, held a rally to call for the falsely incarcerated and recently released, Kevin Strickland, helped over 4,000 Missourians gain access to discounted internet services, helped hundreds of Missourians file to get the child tax credit, and most recently helped over 10,000 Missourians access Medicaid benefits. While others have talked about what they would do–or what they thought should be done–Spencer has taken action.

Missourians agree wholeheartedly that the government is broken. Rather than complain about it, Toder has been doing the work that he will continue as our Senator; making sure that we have access to resources we need and that our lives are made better–Every. Single. Day.
