  • Stephen M. Tomic and Zac Chapepa , Awesome dialogue between you two. Such wise words. “What is life but stories?” and “Medium is ultimately a garden for the written word.

As a therapist/counselor I affirmed for 49 years that people need to share their stories…their narratives. It is why people chat on subways, park benches, church pews, before, during, and after meetings, or when paying one’s parking ticket. People want to “be known.” Some writers I know only write fiction for Medium but a few simply elaborate on what was his or her true story. They feel their stories need some elaboration or drama to make them “safer” for them as writers and thus is less difficult to claim as real or authentic. Their true stories are turned into fiction. Writers need this safe space to share their creations. Keep writing and continue to interview writers, please!

PS: Regarding the discussion about the name: “The Junction.” It is a great name. It conjures up an image of someone coming to a crossroad and having to decide which way to turn. A junction in the road….how do I want to live this next chapter? With whom do I want to spend time during this next stage? One comes to a junction many times during one’s life journey.
