No Respect = No Nothing
Since we’re well into the holiday season and I want to do what I can to spread joy and happiness and all that other good stuff; allow me to do my best impression of that jovial, overweight, bearded guy that helps bring Christmas to most people.
But unlike him, I don’t have presents to hand out nor do I have reindeer to help me spread that magical festive spirit around the world.
Instead, the internet will serve as my de facto transporter and the gifts I come bearing aren’t so much gifts as they are life lessons which I’ve learned and stand by wholeheartedly and wish to share with the world.
At this point in my life, this is all I can offer. I wish I could contribute more, but this is gonna have to do, for now. But I’m okay with my small contributions.
Baby steps, right?
Today, I just wanted to remind y’all that there is no point in trying to spread joy and happiness and basically any positive emotion to those whom you don’t respect.
It’s pointless and useless.
If you don’t at the very least respect the person whom you’re interacting with/wishing well to/doing anything with, what’s the real point? So you can do your part and be fake and appear to be a good person? So you can sleep better at night knowing that you’ve positively contributed?
None of that shit matters until you at least have the very basic level of respect established for people.
If you can’t even respect a person for being a person, leave ’em the fuck alone. They’ll do better without your fake ass in their life.
It all starts with respect. Nothing else matters until you have that basic principle firmly established.
Remember that and have a happy holidays :)
