For myself, the answer to the first question is always “yes,” as evidenced by the fact that I am alive and breathing, and have been doing so for over 57 years. In fact, it leads me to believe that I will always have what I need because I have a 57 year history of that being true. (And I don’t say that lightly, having nearly starved to death in my own home a few years back, which led to eight months of homelessness.)
By always being able to answer “yes” to the first, the second is nearly always answered “no.” I already have what I need, although I do have things I desire. When I look at what I desire, I ask a third question: “What would gaining this do for you?” This allows me to determine if the desire is driven by those things that support me, or those things that harm me.
Just my own two cents, shared as a different rather than opposing viewpoint.
