RE: APC’s TRADER MONI PROGRAMME

When the ‘Trader Moni’ programme of the Buhari-led administration first filtered the air, we were going to think that for the first time since assuming power in 2015, the administration was trying to do its job as custodian of the peoples welfare.
Worrisome is why the government will take the ‘Trader Moni’ programme to Osun State at a time when its gubernatorial election is closeby and a part of the programme’s registration form has a criterion captioned ‘Permanent Voters Card Number’.
What sincere programme can be requesting for PVC details for registration if it isn’t a scheme to buy votes? This is the embarrassingly low level that the APC and President Buhari-led administration has descended to, and to think Prof Yemi Osinbajo was in Osun State the other day partaking in this, is sad indeed.
I must restate that the Buhari-led administration has so drastically failed, such that, vote-buying appears to be their only strategy for the 2019 Elections.
This menace of vote-buying needs to stop without any further ado. Vote-buying via various guises is wrong and must be condemned. ‘Trader Moni programme’ as launched is a scam and a guise to buy votes in Osun State especially, considering the times.
Yesterday, it was sharing of 3 bulbs of onion and 5 cubes of Maggi in Kogi State. Today it is ‘Trader Moni Programme’ in Osun State. Tomorrow, we can only expect something worse under various guises.
However, what is wrong is wrong! Anything, whatsoever good but done with hidden and selfish intent is worthy of forthright condemnation without further thought.
As it concerns the forthcoming Presidential election, surely, one does not expect the APC and President Buhari to change from this unpopular strategy of vote-buying’ in their attempt to win elections.
Be it as it may, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar is prepared. He will use his popularity across the country to triumph over the APC and President Buhari if nominated by the PDP to fly its presidential ticket in 2019.
