The Gentle Cry Of A Dying Art
Blue On Black
I’m not about to go through it with you-all — a bunch of Neanderthals that wants to be associated with the literacy of Literature and pretend that you’re the sole proprietor of the: The ABCs, The 123s or the The how-tos and the not-tos too because that’s just greedy. It is this very greediness that moves you-all to want to be the voice of ignorance or the representative for the vindictive masses; the envoy of not one, but all words.
Not enough — being known as a writer? ‘It is simply not enough,’ you-all say. ‘How about wealth, fame, status and validation? We want to write the cake, eat it and regurgitate it in one motion; we need everyone to drink it and never to be questioned or judged as it is ours and ours alone.’
You-all make me sick. Hoping to live with some pretty pennies found in some online superlative? Hoping to be found so the words can accommodate your insufficiency to survive in modern times; praying for some miracle so the power of the epiphany can fill every void, every hole and every moment of suffering laid down in your path?
Your words are unessential lies made to refract on the sheep, lined-up and led to the slaughter. Confined in the shell of the hallucinations and they will never be secure on the enclosure you call your own. There is no sidestepping the unavoidable. In the beginning was the word but not for selfish craving and personal desire only meaning without guarantees, without any form of payback. ‘Then what?’ You-all ask.
Like ink when it turns to blood; contained in the veins and awaiting to make life and experience pain, suffering and misery; whatever it takes to go from blue on black without the beautiful awakenings. No more dreams for you-all day dreamers. I’m sorry that there is no escape from disharmony and dissatisfaction, but the road and practice. The words were given to you in an empty state can you keep them like that? From ink on blood. From blue on black until the moment of cessation and after that? The unknown waiting to be embraced with no form.
