Formatting a Script for VR
Virtual reality is an old technology (since the 80s), yet a very reccent phenomenon because of improved CGI and computing power on mobile devices. As a rising art form, virtual reality is still being defined. Below, I’m predicting what the script for this new medium will look like. The numbers represent timecode. After setting up the scene in typical screenplay format, the script focuses on the timecode for particular sounds or visuals. By specifying when and where something occurs, the storyteller can gauge weaknesses during pre-production and improve on those in order to create a more compelling and immersive VR experience.
