I totally understand!! Academia is so terrifying- if I were independently wealthy I would totally go get a MFA in printmaking and then a PhD in some sort of esoteric humanities thing… alas, the metadata, it calls. And pays.

I know so many people who start to go to grad school who don’t think about the job after, and when I ask they get offended, which makes no sense to me. Thank you for asking! It is a conversation that we (both our culture and our generation specifically) needs to be better about having.
