This is such an interesting point! We check in really frequently, but it’s more along the lines of “I have $347 in my account, $183 of which is spoken for, and $6 cash”. We don’t look at eachother’s accounts as a rule, but also don’t question where our spending cash goes- it just goes. I think my partner buys lunch far too often, he feels the same about my books and yarn. When we are on a tighter budget these judgments become a larger thing, but when we’re both employed it feels negligible.
