Fr. Fred MacIntyre +

--

Dear Friends,

I write tonight to share the sad news of the passing of Fr. Frederick MacIntyre, a priest of the Archdiocese of Washington and a beloved member of our St. Patrick’s Parish community. Although I only had the pleasure of meeting Fr. Fred one time, during our first inaugural parish picnic, I was immediately struck by his joy and humor, and I have heard wonderful stories of his time here at St. Patrick’s while he was in residence with us during his retirement. I actually use his beautiful chalice when celebrating Mass, which he gave to the parish when he moved from St. Patrick’s to be with his family, and I know that we carry many fond memories of and have much affection for this good, holy, and faithful priest.

Fr. Fred’s funeral liturgies will be at St. Patrick’s during Holy Week, with a visitation late afternoon and an evening Vigil Mass on Tuesday, April 4th, and a morning Mass on Wednesday, April 5th. More details will be forthcoming, but please feel welcome to join us for these liturgies. In the meantime, please pray for the repose of the soul of Fr. Fred and for the comfort and consolation of his family during this difficult time.

May eternal rest grant unto Fr. Fred, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

In Christ,

Fr. Andrew
Pastor
