Festive Fun Or Christmas Chaos? Premier League Preview

We’re beginning to entire the busy Christmas period of Premier League action, and there are some mouthwatering fixtures on over the weekend! Here’s our analysis and predictions…

Saturday’s televised game sees a resurgent Newcastle team, fresh from making Chelsea’s Invincibles Vincible again, travel to North London, where they take on an Arsenal side still reeling from last week’s loss to Stoke. Will Alan Pardew pile yet more pressure on Arsene Wenger? Quite possibly, but we’re going for a hard-fought Arsenal win in this one.

StaRating prediction: 2–1

This is the big one. The Daddy of them all. The most eagerly-anticipated match of the Premier League season. It’s just a shame both teams look dreadful at the moment. Even though United have won five in a row under Louis van Gaal, their performances have been very underwhelming. Liverpool, on the other hand, look like they couldn’t score in a brothel. Given the lack of quality of both teams, this will probably end up being a fantastic game — and we fancy the Red Devils to beat the Reds.

StaRating prediction: 2–0

Monday Night Football this week sees Everton take on QPR. QPR have a pretty good record against Everton in the Premier League, winning six, drawing three and losing three. However, Everton look to finally be clicking, Romelu Lukaku looks dangerous, and with Charlie Austin suspended, it’s hard to see where QPR’s goals will come from.

StaRating prediction: 3–0
