So let me start off by saying that if you don’t stay in action, it is really difficult to stay on track. So many times we start things with good intentions and then along the way we allow ourselves to get distracted. The distractions come in many forms. If you’re conscious of the decisions you’re making on a day to day basis and you make every effort to stay in action, it becomes easy to stay focused and on track.
The distractions are many. You have TV, family, friends, events, old habits, the list goes on. Once you recognize the things that are potential distractions, your job is to remove those things. I know some of you may say that friends and family are one of the difficult things to avoid because well, they’re friends and family. I’m here to tell you that everything has a time and a place in your life. If you have a goal and your friends are always around you and want to spend time with you but their goals are not in line with yours, it’s okay to say no. Same goes for family. If they are supporting your goals and want you to achieve your dreams then they will understand that you need to stay focused. Sometimes that will mean that you need to spend time away from them.
Remember to take time for you and get in that quiet place and meditate. Bring yourself back to that state of action. Remind yourself why you set out to accomplish whatever it is that you wanted to achieve. Sometimes that is enough get you back on the right track. Find ways that will help to keep you motivated and focused on your goals. It isn’t always going to be easy but if you really want something bad enough, you’ll do whatever it takes.
Today remind yourself that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Get off your butt and ignite that fire yet again. Keep going and when you feel like throwing in the towel, remind yourself why you even started this journey. If the things that you are or were doing are no longer serving you, stop doing them. If they serve no purpose in your life, remove them. It really is that easy. You may lose people along the way but you have a choice. Continue what you're doing and if the result you get is not what you want then try something different.
Today is a new day. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow hasn’t even arrived. Remember why you started this journey and stay focused.
