The responsibility of Aircraft maintenance engineer is to keep the Aircraft in a perfect condition of flying. He must have a deep knowledge, ability to make quick decisions, fortitude, and discipline.

Do you see the world as a toy box stuffed with toys that need reimbursements? Do you love opening up electronic appliances in your homes like TV, Refrigerator, and others? Do you love playing and repairing your drones? Or are you fascinated with aircraft? This allure for machines might fit you for a job like Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) is one of the most appealing designations in Aviation industry. It offers attractive wages as well as well-settled life. The best part is it doesn’t have sky-high course fee of a pilot. In fact, the course fee is in the reach of candidate belongings to the middle-class families.

The baby steps

It can start with finishing the Intermediate. For pursuing Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) from an AME training Institute in India, you must have an Intermediate qualification from a recognized Board or Institution. It is neither a degree nor a diploma course. So, you are not going to be a graduate or a diploma holder after successfully completing this course. In fact, it is a three-year AME license-training course. You will have the permit to work on airport for maintenance or construction. After passing the internal exam and successfully completing this course, you will get the license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India.

The reality checks

OPPORTUNITIES

Just like other courses, the certification or license doesn’t guarantee you a job. The competition is high in this field also. You have to clear DGCA exams and airline recruitment exams to get a job. Airlines value the practical experience on aircraft. The more you have experience, the better your chances are for jobs. However, airlines will turn down your application if you haven’t cleared these exams. It is better to go for an AME training Institute in India with more training sessions. It is an expensive affair to provide training on heavy jet engines and aircraft, so most of the institutes skip this part or use demos for training sessions.

In this field, you should not be impatient or mediocre. Only knowledge, discipline, and experience are the way to excel here.

JOB

The workload is crushing. A typical work schedule includes four shifts of work. The two are for the morning shift and the other two are for night shift followed by a two day off. However, this schedule may vary from airline to airline. Whether it is raining, extreme temperature, or a torrential downpour, you have to continue the work.

How much money will you make?

As a stipend, you may get approximately Rs. 5000. However, the starting salary for a fresher is around Rs. 15000. It may not look appealing, but it can be a high paying job after gaining experience and knowledge. For a highly experienced engineer, the salary can go up to a whoppingly high amount of Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.6 lakh.

Summary:
The aviation sector has some hardships, but the attractive salary packages cover it. Additionally, you will get perks like free travel and thrills. Undoubtedly, it is a career option that you can consider. This is perhaps the reason behind growing popularity of AME Training Institute in India.
