The central value of this collection is freedom.
We take our freedom for granted, believing the times of war in Europe are well behind us, but recently we were proven wrong. The whole world witnessed millions of Ukrainians losing their freedom and safety in an instant.
Uniting in love and compassion to support Ukraine, we unite for freedom and humanity, saying no to horrifying terrors, deaths of brave soldiers defending their homeland, senseless loss of civilians and innocent children.
Another aspect of it is not simply a freedom to live, but the freedom of speech and creativity. At times when for so many people speaking their minds is not an option and can be deadly, it is more important than ever.
We enable artists to express themselves, depicting the current events the way they see them, using means of expressions and allegories as they seem fit — artistic freedom is part of fundamental human rights.
Even more so — while some of these artworks might seem graphic to spectators, they don’t come even close to portraying horrible events actually happening.
The world has to unite to help this amazing, brave country. It is indeed the time for thoughts and prayers, but it is also the time to act. Our sincere hope is that we all find the strength within ourselves to be a part of the fight for peace.
