Hey Team! 👋
Starters was born from a passion to make change, promote innovation, and empower a community that embraces the uncertainties of the new and unknown. As Starters we do not shy away from failures, we embrace them as opportunities to learn from our mistakes.
We know that we will only get better over time. As Starters we are constantly evolving and improving because we know that no matter what, there is always a better way to do things.
With that in mind, we wanted to share with you some of the changes and fixes we have made to our site. We just pushed an update to Starters.co with a reworked community page!

✔️ 📅 Sorting Posts
We are now splitting up posts by day, and sorting them by upvotes within each day. Head on over to Starters.co and share with the community an article that you have found, watch the upvotes roll in and see your post float to the top. At the end of the day, the best of the best will be waiting for you at the 🔝 of the list.
✔️ 🆙 Moved Upvote Button
We didn’t like the fact that the upvote button sat on top of the post image and covered almost half of it. So we moved that dumb upvote button. It now sits below the article title so the full post image is visible. 🌇 🙌

✔️ 💭 Added Comment Button to Posts
Join the conversation, add a comment to a post the same way you would add your two cents and jump into discussion in slack. Help us all learn and grow together.
We added a comment button that shows you how many comments there are on each post. That way you can see if its worth jumping into the discussion and how many other people have already beaten you to the punch. 👊💭
✔️🌇Generating Post Images
Before, if there was a link posted on Starters.co that did not have an image associated with it, we simply displayed a placeholder image. It got the job done but if threw off the aesthetics of the site. 😝 Now, if a post doesn’t have an image for us to pull in we will automatically generate a screenshot of the webpage and use that on Starters.co to display as the post image. Its like magic. 😎
✔️ ⏰ Direct Article Link on Posts
Before, in order to go to the full article you had to first click on the post, read part of the article, and then click the “read full story” button to only have us redirect you to the article. We know, it was silly and we don’t know what we were thinking. 🙄 Now, when you hover your mouse over a post, there’s a direct link button. Click it and it will take you directly to the article. Look at that, we are saving you time. ⏰ 😉
✔️ 🐦 Added Twitter Feed to Community Page
The last fun addition to the new and improved community page is the addition of our Twitter news feed. We want to figure out whats the best way to utilize this open space to the sides of the post feed. We really want to use it to showcase some of the awesome things you guys are working on. Until we figure out whats the best way to do that, we made it easier than ever for you to keep up with whats going on. 😉 Make sure to follow us on Twitter if you don’t already! 😊

As mentioned before, we know that there is always a better way do to things. It takes more than a few of us to make a difference. We need your help, let us know what we need to fix, or what you think we should build next in the comments below.
