Don’t “do” a startup.

The issue or the blinding factor may be seeing the growth of chat apps, social media, etc and thinking that a startup is more about bringing in attention and eyeballs to platform which has crowd-sourced content as opposed to building businesses that bring in revenue from day 1. Having a focus on bringing in attention and figuring out a way to retain that attention for the long term brings in investment dollars and revenue can be worried about later.
