So #PinkShirtDay was yesterday and we’re all just frankly blown away about how big a deal Pink Shirt Day is and how many people are sharing about it.

Over the past year or so, we’ve become great friends with Travis Price who is the founder of Pink Shirt Day. We were lucky enough to have Travis be a part of our documentary film Rising Above and since then have had the opportunity to see him speak at events and spend time getting to know him and learn about his vision to ‘Imagine No Bullying’.

Thanks to Kelsey Prince for this photo.

Travis then in turn connected us with his partners at the Canadian Red Cross. We were also, through Travis, able to get to know and feature Scott McHenry in the film who is a former CFL player and now works with Travis educating students about bullying.

Rising Above has been touring across Canada and screening almost every day to students ranging from Grade 7–12. It’s a positive film that focuses on stories of people who have been bullied and who have risen above their circumstances. Bullying is a real problem and people like Stu Saunders and organizations like YLCC Media are helping shine a light on how to move forward.

Congratulations Travis on your 9th Pink Shirt Day and our #PinkShirtPromise is to remain dedicated to spreading positive messages using our film #RisingAboveDoc and to continue to build upon the movement you started.
