One more suggestion: When starting a business, when inside one, do yourself what Buffer is doing: Publish salaries online. Be transparent. Force competition onto the market for salaries! Talent is scarce and applications abundant only when choices are hard to make. Ease choices through transparent, public explanation of salaries!
The simpler, the better the more transparent, the easier it is for both women and men to apply first with real, true equal pay employers. I wouldn’t know of others following in the footsteps of Buffer so far, but from what I read and heard about Joel (founder) and his team, I am sure he and them will gladly assist anybody in doing as they do!
