REMOVE STATISTICS

If you’ve read my blogs or seen my videos before, you’d know that the one thing that I always come back to is the use of data in schools. The only data that needs to be used in schools is the data that benefits the pupils.

Looking at students individually is the key, not percentages or statistics

Instead of finding out that 22% of boys are under-performing in maths compared to 8% of girls — look at the students individually. What use are those statistics? Are you just going to put on intervention for boys? You can’t because each individual has their own strengths and weaknesses. Also a complete waste of time for the 78% of boys doing fine!

Find out the pupils’ strengths and weaknesses and use this information to actually benefit the pupils.
