If I understand your point, though, I don’t agree with your take on the candidates.
Ms. Clinton is not saying that government is responsible for anyone. She’s saying that we, the people, should have as a goal that those that need help, can get help; for example, nobody should suffer in poverty because they weren’t given an opportunity to succeed. It’s not about government being responsible, it’s about us having compassion for others.
Mr. Trump, on the other hand, believes in a world of winners and losers, and he’s made it very clear he doesn’t care about the losers. I don’t think that’s what your father meant, but it’s what Mr. Trump believes.
