You misunderstand me. I certainly do want to change people’s motivations. That’s hard, though, and takes a long time. We still don’t have everyone agreeing on racial equality; it’s better, but not good.
Gun control is in our grasp today and can make a positive change now. We don’t have to wait fifty years.
You’re wrong about Australia, BTW. Deaths from guns went down and while violent crimes went up, that was part of an existing trend; it wasn’t due to gun control laws.
