Case Management Programs at the Guest House of Milwaukee

Entrepreneur Steven Armus has years of experience in the medical and environmental fields. He divides his time between serving as the physician and owner of Dermatology Consultants of Wisconsin and working as a prairie technician, environmental biologist, and owner of Native Prairie Restoration in Franksville, Wisconsin. Steven Armus also maintains an active presence in his community through his support of the Guest House of Milwaukee.

For more than three decades, the Guest House of Milwaukee has been helping individuals who are homeless through numerous programs and services, including case management. The case management services at the Guest House provide shelter guests with one-on-one assistance, ensuring they leave with stable mental health, a sustainable income, and permanent housing.

Case management programs at the Guest House are tailored to each person’s needs. Low-need individuals face only a few barriers to living independently and may only need help finding housing or a stable income. High-need individuals face multiple barriers and are given access to life-skills coaching, addiction recovery counseling, and housing assistance.

In addition to its traditional case management services, the program also offers rapid re-housing and community outreach case management. The rapid re-housing program establishes stable housing for individuals who are newly homeless, preventing their extended stays in homeless shelters. Through the community outreach case management program, individuals and families who are at risk of losing their homes are connected with local resources to help them avoid homelessness.
