A leader in the field of human resources, Steven M. Darien has served as the chief executive officer and chairman of the Cabot Advisory Group, LLC, since 1996. Also a member of a number of other industry organizations, Steven M. Darien serves on the human resources advisory board of the American Management Association.

Since 1913, the American Management Association has promoted professional development for government agencies, teams, organizations, and individuals through its selection of seminars, conferences, and webcasts. The nonprofit organization also offers a leadership program for high school and college students called Operation Enterprise (OE).

For more than 50 years, Operation Enterprise has provided its participants with training on effective communication, responsible leadership, and principled management. The OE format is comprised of workshops and executive meetings that build to a daylong management simulation. With a core curriculum that includes courses on negotiation, business writing, and strategic planning, the program may also be supplemented with training in conflict resolution and entrepreneurship, among other others. Students may earn three hours of undergraduate credit for successful completion of the program.
