There is an ongoing discussion in Team-bhp.com on whether real time fuel economy indicator changes your driving behaviour. (Discussion)

About 2/4 consumers have their driving behaviour impacted by real time fuel economy indication, perhaps making them better drivers. But the solutions offered to them by car vendors are not optimal and requires you to look at small fuel gauges, which displays instantaneous kmpl.

And, deducing how well you drive just from instantaneous kmpl is not reliable as your mileage shoots up and down depending on various factors.

A sample data obtained from OBD:

Speed vs Rpm vs Mileage

We are introducing an elegant solution to becoming an efficient driver with machine learning.

Heads up displays have been around for a while. Although, the build quality of HUDs in market are at-most good.

We use OBD2 adapter to get data in realtime from car (includes speed, rpm, throttle position etc) and analyse it in real time to give visual indicators ( Ranging from green to red) The closer you are to the brightest green, the close you are to reaching your maximum fuel efficiency).

This information is projected onto the heads up display. You can also navigate, take/make calls(in implementation),read texts using HUD.
