Quitting 9–5 job and pearls of one year work

Quitting 9–5 job which pays reasonably well in India is quite hard. I decided to leave my 9–5 job(as a software developer) and start my own venture.

Looking back, it is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I have spent the last year developing Cartics product with my co-founders, reading voraciously(loved the stormlight archive and named our company, “Stormlight technologies”, travelling, and of course, gaming.

We live in an age where ‘Internet of things’ is pervading every aspects of our lives. We can remotely control our lights from smartphone(https://www.emberlight.co/), make a cup of our favourite coffee(https://www.spinn.com/) from smartphone and many more. We set out to improve our connectivity with our cars.

Imagine being able to know our exact car’s engine health, keep track of fuel expenses(weekly/monthly), being reminded about services/insurances as a friend would remind us (about his/her birthday party), learn more about our driving patterns. And yeah, am talking about the product that we have developed over the past year. Here is a sneak peek of the unreleased cartics app (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCudV04XgkE)

Most of the car fitness solutions are either expensive (6–7k) or of poor quality with a poor app. We wanted to find the holy grail to our car connectivity. A device and its accompanying app that would seamlessly connect every time we took a car trip and let us know about any problem automatically.

We learnt that many drivers (ola/uber drivers) have little/no knowledge about their car problems. Such a device would immensely help them understand their car better. After our overwhelming beta response and getting featured in betalist(https://betalist.com/startups/cartics), we have completed our alpha product and are gearing towards our preorder sales (priced at 999/- for preorder, retails @ 1999/-)
