If you are one of the people who think that VR is only for gamers then you might want to think about it again. let’s go back to the basics and define VR : “Virtual reality is an artificial environment that is created with software and presented to the user in such a way that the user suspends belief and accepts it as a real environment. On a computer, virtual reality is primarily experienced through two of the five senses: sight and sound.” so, in a nutshell VR is just a new medium and the way it can be used is limitless, it all depends on the content creators and what they wish to deliver.

Although it first gained its popularity in the gaming field, VR does provide a new possibility for web content browsing, storytelling, and among many other uses (such as medical, military, education etc.) shopping ! stats promise a raise of VR users numbers in 2018 to reach 171 Million users, a considerable number that made giant web vendors aim to ship webVR by the end of this year and web entrepreneurs, such as founder & CEO of Strapdoor Jay Essadki to create and invent new ways of browsing web and online shopping.

The concept behind Strapdoor is to browse online content like playing a video game : having fun without annoying ads and with privacy kept and respected. Isn’t that the dream ? well let me tell you that it is now coming true.

And if you wonder where this tech wave is going, well Mark Zuckerberg puts it this way :

“We’re making a long term bet that immersive, virtual and augmented reality will become a part of people’s daily life.”
