Many of us have come across her famous discovery without knowing anything about it. Many of us probably have no idea who Katharine Burr Blodgett was and what she achieved in the scientific world. A woman, a physicist and chemist that changed the experience of seeing through objects thanks to her invention of the "invisible glass". One of the most significant steps to capture reality and approaches to the Metaverse.
She was the first woman scientist hired by the General Electric's Research Laboratory, as well as the first woman to earn a Ph.D. in Physics. She was the first woman to receive the Photographic Society of America Award, and the American Chemical Society honored her with the Francis P. Garvin Medal.
