I cannot agree more that the demonization of people for their fantasies is totally inappropriate. We deal with this issue in a very wrong-headed way here in the US, in my opinion. I am a victim of CSA, and I have to wonder whether I would have been if there were other outlets and therapy and strong support systems in place for my offenders. That said, I also worry that there may be people who, after purchasing and interacting with one of these dolls, might be left with a deeper sense of longing for the kind of interaction the dolls can only emulate. My personal preference leads more toward the gerontophile, which I suspect only sounds like the flip side of this coin, so I’m not sure that my own personal experience with fantasy (and how those fantasies manifest themselves) tracks with the experiences of people who are attracted to minors; that said, I do find that interaction with certain types of adult toys or implements only serve to intensify my cravings rather than my satiety. I would really like to see some good scientific data, but I doubt that will come during my lifetime, since we can’t seem to get past the fear of what’s still only inside someone’s head.
