Does he know any programming languages? If he learned a programming language like python, he could write short programs that could do some of the more monotonous tasks when sifting through the data. He doesn’t need to know graphics, or how to make an app, or how to make a website, but it seems like he spends a lot of time working with and analyzing long lists of numbers or conditions, and learning python could make his work easier. Python is a high-level language, which means its easy to use it to do complex stuff, and its also easy to learn and use.
