Day 9 Quietness — 365 Happy Days

I like staying at beaches until the last person has long gone.
Living in the city is very different from living in rural areas. As a city girl myself, I always find myself in packed beaches, trying to find a spot that has less people during sunset.
During mornings and hot afternoons, it is pleasant to hear people chattering and children laughing, but during sunsets I definitely prefer taking some good photos and watching the sun set in the horizons.
Yet, it is hard to find such a place.
Until I travelled.
I came across numerous pretty beaches, where few were strolling through, and the sound of the ocean was clearly audible. It was a moment of peace and quietness that I’ve long craved for.
In a world where much information and ideas are thrown out continuously, be it spoken or not, we always have something in mind and often find it hard to put away all these information to quiet our minds and calm our souls.
As I see this pretty ocean, my family and I strolled through the soft and white sand, just to enjoy the quietness of mind and the short period of sunset.
This quietness, is different from the quietness in school, in the office or at home. It is a time without phone calls, without emails, without people.
It’s just you, and the ocean.
As the world becomes increasingly competitive, academics and work becomes more and more important. I understand that it is getting harder and harder to take time to enjoy such tranquility.
But when there are holidays, maybe we could all spend some time to let our body rest, instead of staring at our screens.
