The End

Angiest

And that was it.
She couldn’t stand to breathe anymore.
Not one more inhale,
This decision was final.
There she lay dying inside,
Curled up,
Infantlike,
Crying on the floor.

The final straw came,
No warning.
It was almost nighttime.
All the stars would be gone by morning.
One of them no longer wanted to shine.

The places she came from haunted her deeply,
There was no one left to care for her,
Alone,
Lonely,
Dark,
Cold,
Weeping.
That was her destiny.
She never once asked how this could be.
She just accepted her fate with grace.
Tears streaming down her face.
And that was it.
