I’ve always been a big proponent of the idea that you don’t have to get paid as long as you find it rewarding. I mean, people enjoy Netflix and don’t get paid for that? It’s like John Lennon once said, “The time you enjoyed wasting was not wasted.” Writing isn’t a waste of time, of course, but you know what I mean.

I’ve been fortunate enough to grow my blog into something that nets me a steady flow of free beer/food/tickets. If you’re passionate about something and people take notice of your work, while it might not net cash, it might surprise you how much extra money you can find yourself with if you can spend less of it on the things you enjoy.
