The Best North Shore Resort in MN
Experience the North
Summer is when the North Shore in Minnesota comes alive. Trees and flowers blossom later than most of the country and it’s a time for exploring, relaxing, and vacationing. This popular shore line along the coast of Lake Superior is where you’ll want to spend your summer vacation. If you’re looking at getting away from the crowds, head to Two Harbors, MN, where Superior Shores Resort has its home. Our resort has everything you’ll need for your next North Shore adventure.
Lodging
Superior Shores has all the lodging you’ll need for the perfect getaway in Northern Minnesota. There are three options for lodging at Superior Shores. The main Lodge is a great choice if you’re looking at being right on the resort. The second option is a mile and half south from the Lodge and they are the Burlington Bay Lakehomes. The final option is the Superior Shores Lakehomes, but they are not always available during the summer months. These homes are located on a rocky peninsula of Lake Superior.
Right on the Lake
Facing east, Superior Shores sits right on Lake Superior. This means you’ll get to experience beautiful sunrises and see some magnificent sunset colors across the night sky. Summer is a great time to step out into the waters along the beach and collect agates. When the water isn’t choppy, there are plenty of things to do lakeside, such as kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding.
Adventure North
If you’re looking at getting out of town and adventuring north, check out Gooseberry Falls State Park and Tettegouche State Park. Gooseberry is known for its spectacular waterfalls and hiking trails. Head over to the visitors center to learn more about all that you can see at Gooseberry Falls.
Tettegouche State Park is another wonderful place to go along the North Shore. It offers miles of trails for hiking and the possibility of rock climbing. There are also opportunities to see the Sawtooth Mountains while hiking at Tettegouche.
If you’re really into hiking, hop on the Superior Hiking Trail. The SHT is 313 miles of one trail from Duluth to the Canadian border, which follows the ridgeline of Lake Superior. Many enjoy seeing the boreal forests, waterfalls, and the vast wildlife.
If you’re not wanting to adventure too far from the lodge, check out all that Two Harbors, MN has to offer.
