Photo Essay a trip to Himachal Day 2— Tosh

It’s rare when you wake up to the heavy sound of a river barging down its route. Birds chirping & starting their day. It’s still misty out there & seems like the rain had continued over the night.
Planning to start my trek to Tosh, Khir Ganga. It’s going to be a long day with 6+ hours of trek.
I’ve been told to carry enough cash as the more remote I go the less facilities available in there. Sounds like exactly what I’m after ;)

I wanted to start early but the laziness in mountains has me in its grip. I could only start at 11 to reach Tosh by 12:15. It was a 21 km drive. The Taxies only run to a certain part down below. You have to cross a small bridge & climb up through the village of tosh. I wanted a room with a good view so I went up the hill as long as I could & found a room. Cost 500 only & the view priceless.
The drive from Kasol to Tosh took me 1 hour & the taxi drops you at the bottom of the hill where Tosh is. This small journey was filled with some beautiful scenery. Saw a herd of sheep crossing through the road, they are everywhere. It was drizzling when we are about to reach Tosh & I clicked this quick snap.

You have to cr0ss a small bridge & start climbing up through the village. My cab driver gave me a tip to find a room on the top most peak so the view will be good. I did exactly that. Went through the small village right up to the top to the last property I could find. Was not even sure if I will find any rooms at the end, but I just kept walking & finally ended up at Energy Cafe.

3:00 pm sitting at my room
Mesmerized by the beauty I can’t take my eyes off the snowy peaks. It was only a while before it started raining again. The fellas in next room are all stoned & reggae & techno music on speakers. I would have preferred the sound of rain more though. I’ll find a peaceful place to finish the book soon.
