Idaho, sometimes known as the “Gem State”, is a fantastic destination for anyone in search of exciting outdoor activities and breathtaking scenery.

There is really something for everyone to enjoy in Idaho, from the state’s breathtaking mountain ranges and extensive wilderness regions to its thriving towns and one-of-a-kind cultural attractions.

Yellowstone National Park is a must-see while visiting Idaho.

This iconic park spans the state line between Wyoming and Idaho and is home to several geothermal phenomena, including geysers, hot springs, and mud pots. Hikers, campers, and drivers will appreciate the beautiful landscapes and plentiful wildlife, which may include bears, wolves, bison, and elk.

Yellowstone isn’t the only beautiful national park or wilderness region in Idaho, however.

Central Idaho is home to Sawtooth National Recreation Area, which is known for its craggy mountains, clear lakes, and flower-filled meadows. Adventurers may go on picturesque drives, fish, and camp out while they’re in town.

Located in western Idaho, Hells Canyon National Recreation Area is home to the Snake River’s deepest river canyon in the Americas. Tourists may enjoy beautiful vistas while hiking, rafting, or horseback riding through the steep canyon environment.

Boise, the state capital, has a bustling downtown district with museums, galleries, and interesting shops and restaurants, perfect for city explorers. The Boise Art Museum displays both modern and historical works, while the Basque Museum and Culture Center highlights Idaho’s Basque roots.

Mining and logging have long histories in Idaho, and museums around the state provide fascinating glimpses into these sectors. In Wallace, visitors can go on an underground tour of a historic silver mine at the Sierra Silver Mine Tour, and in Orofino, they can learn about the forestry and lumber industries at the Idaho Forest Discovery Center.

The state of Idaho is a great destination for anyone seeking exciting outdoor activities. Sun Valley and Bogus Basin are only two of the many ski areas in the state, and the rivers and mountains are also great for fishing and hunting.

There are several trails for hikers and backpackers to explore, including the 93-mile long Coeur d’Alene Trail and the equally well-known Idaho Centennial Trail.

Lava Hot Springs and Gold Fork Hot Springs are just two of the many places in Idaho where tourists can bathe in natural mineral pools surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery.

As a whole, Idaho is a great place to visit if you’re looking for a vacation full of breathtaking scenery, thrilling outdoor activities, and interesting cultural experiences.
