Controller

We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our team.

Responsibilities
Accounting
- Manage all firm accounting and record keeping

Fund Administration
- Manage our outsourced back office team and facilitate weekly calls with them
- Manage deal-related operations (ownership %, collecting cap tables, purchase agreements, etc.)
- Produce quarterly financial statements, our annual audit and K-1’s
- Track expected follow on for companies and provide reserves analysis
- Manage tax reporting with our tax accounting firm, across all Susa entities
- Coordinate closely with back-office CFO to set a valuation policy, determine when we should raise, when we should do capital calls, etc.

Portfolio
- Collect financials from portfolio companies & summarize data
- Record portfolio company financial performance & report out quarterly
- Help portfolio companies with financial models as requested

LP Communication
- Build & maintain an accurate database of LP contacts, tagged with respective types of communication (general updates, cap calls, audits, etc.)
- Quickly assist with financial-related LP requests & questions

Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting
- 3+ years experience in finance, ideally within VC (bonus: CPA at Big 4)
- Generalist who is comfortable seeking out what you don’t already know
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
- Other critical skills: Organized, flexible, problem solver, attention to detail, positive, resourceful, emotionally intelligent, trustworthy

Executive Assistant & Office Manager

We are looking to add an experienced Executive Assistant & Office Manager to join our team to work closely with our 3 General Partners, Chad, Leo & Seth, as well as our Head of Operations, Natalie. This is a unique role that will provide exposure to the investment process, business operations, and the support that we provide to our founders.

Overview
The Executive Assistant provides day-to-day administrative support to the team. This person must be able to multitask, work independently and have incredible communication, prioritization and organizational skills. This role requires a roll-up-the-sleeves mentality to help with the ever-rotating challenge of the day.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Team productivity
- Heavy calendar management for the full team
- Travel coordination
- Coordinate logistics for internal and external meetings
- Track expenses and prepare expense reports
- Interface with back office team on expenses & invoices
- Ad hoc administrative tasks

Office Management
- Source & manage vendors: cleaning, maintenance, etc
- Receive & distribute mail & packages
- Handle facilities-related emergencies (lost keys, wifi down, etc.)
- Interface with landlord / facilities contact
- Order & stock office supplies, snacks & drinks
- Greet guests & offer drinks
- Order & stock swag
- Tidy up office as needed
- Refresh bathroom & kitchen
- Continuous eye for improving office

Community support
- Deploy Founder welcome packages
- Maintain and update contact lists in our CRM
- Assist in planning team offsites & outings
- Assist in planning Mountain Tech Summit, Annual Meeting and Family Dinners

Qualifications & Experience

Need to have
- 2+ years relevant experience
- Detail-oriented & organized
- Positive, trustworthy & emotionally intelligent
- Humble & hungry — nothing is below you, and you will do whatever helps the team be more effective
- Excellent communicator- written, verbal & interpersonal
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, Google docs

Nice to have
- Relevant experience in a VC, agency or business environment
- Experience in a startup or small VC firm environment
- Comfortable working closely with senior management
