Everything you have written here presupposes that morality has no actual value. It sounds like being truthful, honest, kind, loving, and faithful are just pantomimes that we do to please a guy who’s always got his eye on us. These qualities have no value otherwise. There’s no reason to take good care of your family and your children and yourself. There’s no value in it. An all-powerful outside force is making you do it by threatening you with eternal torture. Otherwise, there would be no point … right?
God is wrong. Honesty and integrity have more value than prison bars. They are not a pointless ritual like kneeling 5 times a day. They do not make life a prison. They make life worth living.
