This is part of the belief system I have left behind:
Keri Smith

On the subject of empathy and healing I would say we have the same problem of not wanting to believe that others have different ways of creating empathy and healing. People are all different and we all have different ways creating connections to each other and empathizing with each other. Our ways of sharing and connecting may be very different. When you try to claim that we are all humans and therefore it all works the same way for everyone you are denying diversity and differences. Every snowflake is an individual and unique unto itself. Empathy and healing may come far more from recognizing differences than it does from anything else. How can you even call something empathy if you cannot recognize differences?
