Comey May Claim ‘The Russians Made Me Do It’ in the Latest ‘Believe It or Not’ Claim

After a news report was released on Wednesday, instead of using the old cliche “the devil made me do it,” Comey may be able to spin the phrase into “the Russians made me do it,” in explaining why he handled the Hillary Clinton investigation the way he did.

According to the Washington Post, FBI “officials” claim that a “secret document” pertaining to Clinton was given to the FBI during the campaign.

Where did this mysterious document allegedly come from? Russia, of course.

The Post indicates that the FBI received “a Russian intelligence document” claiming an implied understanding between the Clinton campaign and the Department of Justice.

Allegedly, the document described how former U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch had privately assured someone in the Clinton campaign that the email investigation wouldn’t got “too deeply into the matter.”

The Post indicates:

“The document, obtained by the FBI, was a piece of purported analysis by Russian intelligence, the people said. It referred to an email supposedly written by the then-chair of the Democratic National Committee, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), and sent to Leonard Benardo, an official with the Open Society Foundations, an organization founded by billionaire George Soros and dedicated to promoting democracy.
In the supposed email, Wasserman Schultz claimed Lynch had been in private communication with a senior Clinton campaign staffer named Amanda Renteria during the campaign. The document indicated Lynch had told Renteria that she would not let the FBI investigation into Clinton go too far, according to people familiar with it.”

Was there obstruction of justice by Lynch?

The left would be screaming it from the rooftops if the AG involved was Jeff Sessions or any other Republican for that matter.

However, according to The Post, the FBI determined in August 2016 that the document was unreliable. Are we to supposed to be satisfied with that decision?

Wait! Isn’t there an investigation going on right now with former FBI Director Robert Mueller concerning possible “Russian collusion?”

Or is he only “investigating” possible collusion between the “Trump administration” and Russia?

Will he be examining the “fake” Russian document himself to make a determination of its authenticity?

In relying upon the document, The Post reports that “current and former officials” believe Comey felt he needed to go public because he thought the investigation was compromised.

Is this sounding familiar to anyone else?

The plot involves a “secret document” no one has seen, coming from the Russians along with a possible obstruction of justice claim which is to blame for Comey’s public announcement on July 5, 2016, in which he said Clinton’s handling of her email server was “extremely careless.”

Currently, there is a “Comey memo” that no one has ever seen, accusations that President Donald Trump attempted to obstruct justice when he asked Comey to “let it go” when referring to former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and of course, the Russians are supposedly involved.

Was Comey’s career in government just a bad soap opera with an even worse plot line?

Perhaps he’s had a string of back luck with history repeating itself under his watch?

In any event, at least The Post has come up with another theory to support a “plausible” explanation for why Clinton lost the election.

So, will the Russians be blamed for any wrongdoing that Hillary is ever possibly accused of in the future?

Yes. Count on it.
