Maxine Waters for President in 2020? Joke or Real Possibility?

Would you expect Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif. to take seriously a question asked by a reporter about whether she will run for president in 2020?
Apparently, Waters told The Daily Caller when asked, that her appearance in New Hampshire this weekend has nothing to do with any ambition of hers to become president.
It’s a reasonable question, considering the fact that California Republican Sen. Kamala Harris hobnobbed in the Hamptons recently and will be returning again this weekend with hopes of convincing some powerful Democratic donors that’s she’s the ‘fresh-faced progressive’ they’ve been searching for to lead them to victory in 2020.
While Waters certainly doesn’t match that description, she is a progressive in every sense of the word.
However, Waters didn’t totally rule out the possibility of running in 2020.

Sounding a lot like Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont who was a favorite among millennials before he was ousted from a possible ‘throne’ by Hillary Clinton, Waters said:
“I’m not running for anything but my own seat. I don’t have any presidential aspirations. If the millennials want me to do it, I’d do it, though.”
So, millennials, would you choose Waters who will be at least 81 in 2020, if she decides to run? Perhaps the senior Waters would be even more appealing than Sanders who is three years her junior?
Maybe what attracts millennials to Waters is her outspoken criticism of President Donald Trump?

The 14th term Waters who calls for Trump’s impeachment every opportunity she gets to speak in front of a camera or on the floor of the House, recently said:
“Mr. Speaker, my position against this president and his administration is clear. I oppose this president. I do not honor this president. I do not respect this president.”
Such a great role model for millennials, right? I can definitely see why they might fall for her. #sarcasm
All sarcasm aside, we shouldn’t take anything for granted because Waters believes that millennials love her.
She told The New York Times recently:
“I have been adopted by the millennials, and I’m enjoying every minute of it! I’m learning a new language. You never think about shade, for example, other than, you know, ‘a tree is providing shade,’ but when they taught me what shade was, I thought: ‘Now, isn’t that creative?’”
Chances are that even if Waters decides she will run in 2020, wealthy Democratic donors will overlook her and choose someone like Harris instead to be their presidential hopeful.
