(Video) Carl Bernstein Accuses President Trump of Telling ‘Lies’ But Offers No Proof
What happens when the liberal mainstream media fails at pushing a narrative about President Donald Trump to fit their agenda?
In other words, when the media wants to convince the public that Trump is the worst president that ever stepped foot in the White House but it just isn’t working, then what do they do?
They keep trying of course! It’s just what you would expect from the progressive left.
This time Carl Bernstein, the left-leaning member of the famous Woodward and Bernstein duo who took down President Nixon in the “Watergate” scandal appears to have once again been tapped to call out Trump.
It’s obvious that Bernstein has much disdain for Trump and this isn’t the first time he’s taken the opportunity to speak poorly of him.
Sunday on CNN, Bernstein, fresh off of the White House Correspondence Dinner, said about Trump, “He has lied as no President of the United States in my lifetime has.”
Does that sound like a bit of an exaggeration to you?
Bernstein’s statement was later tweeted with the video of his interview.
As you might expect, conservatives were not very happy about Bernstein’s unsubstantiated claim.
Bernstein’s most recent verbal assault on Trump is just one of many.
Earlier in February, Bernstein was upset and spoke out when Trump talked about his lack of trust in the media.
Bernstein said that Trump’s attacks on the media were:
“more treacherous” than those by former President Richard Nixon.
Prior to that in December 2016, Bernstein told CNN that then President-elect Trump:
“lives and thrives in a fact-free environment.
No president, including Richard Nixon, has been so ignorant of fact and disdains fact in the way this President-elect does.
And it has something to do with the growing sense of authoritarianism he and his presidency are projecting.
The danger of it is obvious and he’s trying to make the conduct of the press the issue, not his own conduct.
What we have seen throughout the campaign is pathological disdain for the truth, a kind of lie, and ease with lying, that we have not seen before.”
It appears that all of Bernstein’s statements about Trump have been presented without supporting facts.
Perhaps Watergate came out of Bernstein’s “fact-based” days. Bernstein’s proof certainly seems to be missing today, at least, when it comes to Trump.
As any good journalist would tell you…facts matter.
We’re still waiting, Mr. Bernstein.
